How to Extract Text from a PDF
PDFToolShack’s Extract Text tool uses PDF.js to read the text layer embedded in your PDF directly in your browser — no server, no upload, no account required. The extracted text appears instantly and can be copied to your clipboard or downloaded as a plain .txt file.
This tool works on text-based PDFs — documents created digitally in Word, InDesign, or similar software where the text is embedded as actual characters. It does not work on scanned PDFs where pages are images of text. For scanned documents, you’ll need OCR (optical character recognition) software.
Use Per Page mode to browse and copy text from individual pages, or All Pages to combine everything into one block for easy copying or download.
