A screenshot is a PNG or JPG image file. Converting it to a PDF takes less than a minute on any platform, and the result is a universally shareable, printable document that looks professional in a way a raw image file doesn't. Whether you have one screenshot or a dozen to bundle together, here's the fastest path on each device.
How to Convert a Screenshot to PDF on Windows
Method 1: Print to PDF (One Screenshot, No Software)
- Open the screenshot in Photos, Paint, or any image viewer.
- Press Ctrl+P to open the Print dialog.
- Select Microsoft Print to PDF as the printer.
- Choose your paper size. If you want the screenshot to fill the page, set the print size to "Fit to page" or adjust scaling.
- Click Print, choose a filename and location, and click Save.
This is the fastest single-screenshot method on Windows and requires no extra tools. The resulting PDF will be exactly one page showing the screenshot image.
Method 2: Combine Multiple Screenshots into One PDF
If you have several screenshots to bundle into a single document, the print-to-PDF method produces one PDF per screenshot and then requires merging. It's faster to use our JPG to PDF tool instead:
- Open our JPG to PDF tool in your browser.
- Add all your screenshots (PNG and JPG both supported).
- Drag to set the page order.
- Choose page size (A4 or Letter) and whether to fit each image to the page or use its natural dimensions.
- Download the combined PDF.
This approach is also faster than print-to-PDF for a single screenshot since there's no dialog to navigate — just drop the file and download.
How to Convert a Screenshot to PDF on Mac
Method 1: Preview (Quickest for Single Screenshots)
- Double-click the screenshot to open it in Preview.
- Press ⌘P to open the Print dialog.
- Click the PDF dropdown in the bottom-left corner.
- Select Save as PDF.
- Choose a filename and location, then click Save.
Method 2: Drag into Preview for Multiple Screenshots
Preview on Mac can combine multiple images into a single PDF in a few steps:
- Select all the screenshots in Finder.
- Right-click and choose Open With → Preview. All images open as a multi-page document in Preview's sidebar.
- Drag the thumbnails in the sidebar to set the page order.
- Go to File → Export as PDF.
- Name the file and click Save.
This is the cleanest free method on Mac for bundling multiple screenshots into one PDF without any additional tools.
How to Convert a Screenshot to PDF on iPhone
Method 1: Share from Photos (Fastest)
- Open the screenshot in the Photos app.
- Tap the Share icon (box with arrow pointing up).
- Tap Print.
- On the print preview screen, use a pinch-to-zoom outward gesture on the page thumbnail. This converts the preview to a PDF.
- Tap the Share icon that appears and choose Save to Files.
Method 2: Full-Page Screenshot in Safari
If the screenshot is of a webpage you still have open in Safari, there's a better approach than converting the screenshot: take a full-page screenshot directly. Take a screenshot normally (side button + volume up), tap the thumbnail that appears, then tap Full Page at the top of the editor. Safari captures the entire scrollable page as a single long PDF. Tap Done and choose Save to Files.
How to Convert a Screenshot to PDF on Android
- Open the screenshot in the Gallery or Photos app.
- Tap the Share button.
- Select Print from the share options.
- In the print dialog, select Save as PDF as the printer.
- Tap the download/save button to save the PDF.
If Print doesn't appear in your share sheet, open the screenshot in Chrome instead: tap the three-dot menu, select Share, then Print, then Save as PDF.
Combining Multiple Screenshots into One PDF (Any Device)
Our JPG to PDF tool is the fastest way to bundle multiple screenshots into a single PDF from any device with a browser. It accepts PNG, JPG, and WebP, supports drag-to-reorder, and runs locally in your browser — your screenshots never leave your device. For a detailed guide to this workflow including page size and orientation options, see How to Make a PDF from Images.
Screenshot PDF vs. Full-Page Save: Which Is Better?
If you're capturing a webpage, a screenshot-to-PDF is often not the ideal approach. The better options are:
- Print to PDF from the browser — captures the full scrollable page at proper resolution, not just what's visible on screen. See our Print to PDF guide for the exact steps in Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox.
- Safari Full Page screenshot (iPhone only) — captures the full scrollable page as a PDF with one tap.
Screenshot-to-PDF is best when you specifically need to capture the visual state of something at a point in time — a UI state, an error message, a confirmation screen — rather than the underlying page content. For those cases, the methods above give you a reliable, shareable PDF in seconds.
- Windows: open the screenshot, Ctrl+P, select Microsoft Print to PDF
- Mac: open in Preview, ⌘P, click the PDF button → Save as PDF
- iPhone: Photos → Share → Print → pinch-to-zoom outward → Save to Files
- Android: Gallery → Share → Print → Save as PDF
- For multiple screenshots into one PDF: use our JPG to PDF tool — drag, order, download
- For webpages: Print to PDF from the browser captures the full page better than a screenshot
